The project involves all the required actors to complete a network that could successfully promote these regions in the national and international tourism flows: local private sector (SMEs and intermediaries). | |
| This project aims at setting up or enhance partnership among European Tour Operators (especially Italian and Belgian ones) and their Asian homologous counterparts by creating “Responsible Tourism proposals/products” managed by the local SMEs and micro businesses belonging to the four Asian regions involved in the Project.
It particularly aims at involving Asian local sources and at promoting enterprise development in the tourism sector through the encouragement of local people participation and a responsible approach. The Action has been foreseen to:

Tourism is considered a key economic sector in all the three Asian countries (Nepal, Mongolia and China) involved in the proposal, able to contribute positively to local economic development (mainly in terms of impact on their private sector and creation of new jobs). However, the regions selected, to fully benefit from these positive impacts, have to overcame some weakness such as: high rate of unemployment, inadequate knowledge on how to exploit natural resources and local cultural heritage, little capacity to create and advertise tourism packages, lack of entrepreneurial approach, difficulty to reach external markets. To this extent, the proposal fosters the development and the growth of essential skills (seen as necessary to work in the tourism sector and to fully exploit its potential benefits) within local business communities. The improvement of such capabilities together with the creation of a network of potential new customers and clients could help these regions in their sustainable development. |
